Runescape

There are literally hundreds of free rpg games online. One of the most successful is a medieval RPG game called Runescape. Runescape has over ten million active players according to Guinness World Records and is recorded as the largest free MMO in the world.

The action takes place in the magical world of Gielinor. Characters can learn up to 24 skills and complete over 150 quests. The games designers say there is 15,000 hours of game play in the free game alone. I believe them as the Runescape world is very large and there is much that can be done. And all of this is on what players call “Free play”.

If you choose to pay a small monthly subscription then the total estimated gameplay is around 25,000 hours which translates to a little over eight and a half YEARS of game play at 8 hours a day – EVERY day. Surely this is enough for even the most eager RPG game fan?

If this amount of content is not enough for you (as you never sleep or something) then Runescape is regularly updated with new content. Most of the new content is aimed at the paid accounts but frequently features that were previously only available to paid accounts will become free or the new expansion will have a significant part that is available to free play accounts.

Great RPG Game Play

Skills and levelling up in Runescape are pretty straightforward compared to some MMO RPG Games. If you want to eat a meal, for example, you can chop firewood for a fire, thus skilling up both wood cutting and fire-making skills. Once the fire is lit you can cook whatever it is you desire to cook so long as you have the skill level to do so. A great item to cook is fish as you can level fishing as well as other skills at the same time. The cooked fish usually sell for a good price too.

Some RPG Games make combat unnecessarily complicated, not so in Runescape. There is an option you can turn on or off to automatically attack anyone that attacks you first. Simple, huh? Of course there is a problem with this in as much as it will also cause you to run toward that attacker. This can be cancelled merely with a click but if that attacker is chasing you then of course they get nearer each time you have to click to cancel...

Runescape is a great MMO RPG Game and there is a truly huge amount to recommend it, not least of which is that it is free to play! Go download it now!
